The LUSEM library provides a broad variety of books, journals and electronic materials. See here how we can help you with your work.
Where do I search for information?
LUBsearch is the entry point to the University Libraries’ collective resources, both electronic and printed. A single search field enables you to find articles, journals, doctoral theses and books. You get an overview of all the library resources related to your search.
The library holds books within all the LUSEM subject areas. They are placed in our Open Collection (Öppen Samling - ÖS), which consist of popular circulating literature, and in closed stacks. We also have a collection of course books.
Search for books, make requests and manage your loans in our library catalogue Lovisa.
If you want to know more about how to find, access and use e-books at Lund University go to the subject guide E-books and E-readers.
Search for electronic articles in LUBsearch. Large parts of the material are available in full text, and with your Lucat ID you can access it from wherever you are. If you want to search for articles within a special subject area, go to one of our subject databases. Subject databases often allow you to more specifically limit your search and in many cases they feature special subject glossaries (thesauruses).
The library's printed journals are placed in our closed stacks. Find them, and make a request, in our library catalogue Lovisa.
Lubito is a service where students and staff at Lund University can order scanned articles from journals available in print at The University Library (UB). The service is free of charge and a link to the PDF-file will be delivered the following weekday.
Databases A-Z is a list over all the subject databases that Lund University subscribes to. Perform a free text search or browse alphabetically. You can also search by subject and get a list over databases within the LUSEM subject areas.
Are you missing a database or do you need help? Please contact Sandra Elebro.

Can't find what you need?
If we don't have what you are looking for, you can request the material through an interlibrary loan. You are also welcome to submit purchasing suggestions for books, journals and databases, which you think the library should have. First ensure that we don't have the material by searching in the library catalogue Lovisa, in LUBsearch or in Databases A-Z. If you have any questions, please contact the library.
Course literature at the library
The LUSEM library holds one reference copy of each course book within the LUSEM subjects. We also provide a number of copies that can be borrowed home for two weeks.
When you select literature for a course, please consider selecting books and journals that is already available in the library or that is available electronically. Search in our library catalogue Lovisa or in LUBsearch.
Before each semester, literature lists together with information about the number of students, should be sent to the library via a course administrator.
If you want to send a literature list directly to the library, or if you have any questions about the course books at the library, please contact Katrin Nylén.
