"Hjärtstartare"/AED:s at LUSEM
Published: 2018-09-19
At LUSEM we have Automated External Defibrillators (AED:s), in Swedish "Hjärtstartare". Do you know where to find them and how to use them?
AED:s at LUSEM
Automated External Defibrillators (AED) or Hjärtstartare can save lives. At LUSEM we have in total six AED:s, in EC, Alfa 1 and Alfa 2. To find out where they are you can check the map on AED:s, the so called Sveriges Hjärtstartarregister. Enter "Ekonomihögskolan Lund" or the addresses "Ole Römers väg" or "Tycho Brahes väg" and our AED:s will be shown on a map. If you click on the symbols you will get some further information about where to find them.
These are the six defibrillators in our buildings:
EC1: Main entrance (on your right hand, entering Ljusgården)
EC2: Main entrance (on your right hand when entering)
EC3: Entrance from the agora/"gula villan" (on your left hand when entering)
Alfa 1: Main entrance (on your left hand when entering)
Alfa 1: The "Agrifood entrance" (on your left hand when entering)
Alfa 2: Main entrance (on your left hand when entering)
Use
According to the HLR-rådet (Swedish Resuscitation Council) it is very easy to use these defibrillators and they are intuitive. A brief instruction course is preferred though. In 2015 the LUSEM staff was offered education in how to use these machines. During the autumn 2018 there will probably be new occasions. Further information will follow.
