18 million stronger

All since the Centre for sustainable enterprising was launched in September 2022 the five senior researchers involved have been aiming for becoming an important part of, and platform for, the development of sustainable businesses and industry. Now the Centre director Susanne Arvidsson has received another research grant of 18 000 000 SEK by The Kamprad Family Foundation for Entrepreneurship, Research and Charity.

During spring 2022 LUSEM and LTH established a joint centre for sustainable enterprises and sustainable development, Sparbanken Skåne Centre for Sustainable Enterprising (SSCEN). The centre was financed through a generous donation from Sparbanken Skåne. Now a new research grant opens up even more opportunities for the centre's management with Centre director Susanne Arvidsson in the lead.

Another 18 million

The new research grant of 18 million will be used at the centre for the programme Hållbar näringslivsutveckling av små och medelstora företag med framtidens entreprenörer i centrum (Sustainable business development of small and medium-sized companies with future entrepreneurs at the center).

"Applying for this funding was a strategic decision and my ambition to develop the research environment when it comes to the progress within business, in this case with a focus on midsize enterprises and small businesses. They play a very important role in the general sustainable conversion," Susanne explains. 

Strength and impact

The new funding will strengthen the existing centre and the already ongoing research and Susanne is looking forward to being able to recruit even more skilled researchers to the centre.

"This will certainly help us to create impact!" Susanne says.

The aim for the centre has from the start last year been to become an important part of, and platform for, the development of sustainable businesses and industry. The rapid transformation of businesses and industry, and the the necessity to try to reach climate, biodiversity and other sustainability goals justifies to the highest degree that a research center like SSCEN/the Centre for sustainable enterprising grows and develops in Lund.
